SOME RARE & UNUSUAL ITEMS FOR THIS AUCTION

Ca. 1924 Artizan Factories Model A-1 Military Band Organ

To see a video of this Band Organ in Operation, CLICK HERE…you may be redirected to YouTube or a new window may open.

The Artizan Band Organs differ from the more common Wurlitzer band organs in that they used compressed air to play all the instruments as opposed to Wurlitzer vacuum-driven systems.  An electric driven motor turns the many shafts and gears that make this wonderful 46-key band organ function…this particular organ hadn’t played for nearly 40-years, just because there really wasn’t anyone to listen to it…put the motor back on top, bolted it down, affixed the belt onto the pulley, plugged it in…and amazingly…it played beautifully.  It may need some minor tuning and a little bit of TLC, but it does play the special rolls made for a compressed air machine like this one.  By all accounts, there were not many of these made and there aren’t many of these left and even fewer still that are in their original, non-modified state, and playing compressed air (most were converted to vacuum).  Made in North Tonawonda, New York, this machine is numbered 502 and includes several rolls with different marches.  Will have a list shortly of the rolls and the music they play.  But the beauty of this machine doesn’t stop there…it comes with its own mobile home…a large converted tandem-axle concession trailer w/ doors on all sides provides nearly 360 degrees of view of this organ in operation.  The trailer is well-lit with fluorescent lights.  One of the owner’s brothers, decked this trailer out with beautiful red & yellow trim to make it look like an old circus wagon.  A carnival artist also made wheel covers to make the tires on the trailer look like on wooden wagon wheels.  A lot for the money here.

An assortment of carnival items in this auction including several games, one of which, includes a large leather mule among others.  There are some wonderful carnival prizes from the 1950’s & 1960’s along with old trunks and other go-withs from the carnival industry.

Other antiques will include:

2 Kalamazoo wood-burning cook stoves

Several large wood and iron wheels from old horse-drawn freighter wagons.

Early 1900’s Slate Top National Pool Table

This is an exquisite pool table from the early 1900’s made by the National Billiard Company.  The pool table does not have its original tag as it was replaced with a Brunswick tag at some point when the bumpers were replaced.  To move it to our auction facility, the entire table was disassembled by professionals and it was interesting to see the inner workings of this table.  The ball returns are all wood.  The slate is in wonderful condition.  The table was reassembled and plenty of felt was left so you won’t have to buy new felt for this one.  This table has large legs with a white rose decal or painting on the sides.  What a grand table!!!
